Accommodation at Dorval Lodge

27 cottages. Baie Desmarais. The Dozois Reservoir at your doorstep.

In the morning, you open the door of your cottage and the reservoir is right there. Calm. Vast. Ready for the day.

That’s what staying at Dorval Lodge is all about. Not a hotel. Not a resort. Functional, well-equipped cottages set around Baie Desmarais with direct access to the water. The kind of place where you unpack, organize your kitchen, and are on the reservoir within minutes.

The property includes 27 cottages, all with 24-hour electricity and running water. Each cottage features a fully equipped kitchen — refrigerator, stove, utensils, coffee maker, cookware — as well as a private bathroom. We operate on a European plan: you bring your supplies, we provide everything else.

A cottage for every group

Whether you are coming alone for a long fishing weekend or gathering up to 24 people for a family trip, we have the space for you.

Our cottages accommodate 1 to 6 guests for the smaller units, with larger options for 10, 13 and up to 24 guests. Each cottage has its own detailed page with photos, bedroom layout and exact capacity.

For larger groups, the Auberge is our biggest cottage. Up to 24 guests under one roof, with 12 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 fully equipped kitchens and 2 BBQs. It is the preferred choice for family gatherings, work groups, company retreats or friends who want to stay together.

Le Bois Rond, our log cottage, accommodates up to 10 guests and offers a unique charm. The Dozois cottage can host up to 13 guests. These three larger cottages are often reserved season after season by returning guests.

What each cottage includes

  • Electric or propane heating
  • Non-potable running water
  • Fully equipped kitchen: refrigerator, stove, utensils, coffee maker, cookware and dishes
  • Bathroom
  • BBQ at every cottage

Note: Cottage 11 is equipped with two hot plates instead of a stove. Bedding is not provided — please bring your own sheets, pillows and blankets.

European plan — and why guests love it

A European plan means you manage your own meals. For most of our guests, that’s exactly what they want.

You set your own schedule. No fixed dining room hours. Fishing early? Eat early. Want to spend the evening cooking fresh walleye with friends and enjoying a drink together? You can.

It’s the freedom of a cottage with the support of an outfitter — the best of both worlds.

Reservations and availability

Cottages book quickly, especially for popular weeks in June and July. Many returning guests reserve their next stay before even leaving the lodge. We recommend planning early.

Minimum stay: 3 nights.
