Check-in is at 2:00 p.m. However, you may arrive earlier if you wish and enjoy a day of fishing before accessing your cottage upon return. If you rent one of our boats, you may take possession of it starting at 7:00 a.m.

Check-out is by 10:00 a.m. at the latest. You may fish on the day of departure as long as the cottage is vacated by that time. If you rent one of our boats, it must be returned to the fuel dock the evening before your departure (even after office hours), as it is likely rented the following morning. We will then refuel and complete the final inspection.

We are open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the summer season.

Yes, cellular service is available throughout the property and across much of the reservoir. However, Rogers and Vidéotron users may experience limited or no service.

No. Although the water comes from an artesian well, it is not tested and is therefore not potable. Please bring enough drinking water for your stay.

We are located approximately 400 km from Montreal.

Yes. We are open for one weekend only, during Thanksgiving weekend.

We are located directly on Highway 117 at kilometre 397. There are no gravel roads to travel.

Do not use your vehicle’s GPS, as it will direct you to our mailing address rather than our physical location. Use Google Maps on your mobile phone and search for “Dorval Lodge.” The address shown on your booking confirmation should not be used for navigation.

We are a private business located within SEPAQ territory. Access rights are therefore required to fish on the reservoir.

Yes. A fee of $15 per vehicle is charged for boat launch access, parking and use of the fish cleaning house. Fishing access rights must also be purchased at the lodge.

Yes. A minimum stay of 3 nights is required.

Online booking is not available, but you can check availability online.

From the Monday of Labour Day until the end of the season, we offer one free night (minimum stay of 3 nights).

A deposit of $150 per person is required to confirm your reservation.

You may cancel up to 30 days before your arrival date without penalty. If the cancellation is made within 30 days of arrival, the deposit will be forfeited.

At the lodge, we accept credit card, debit and cash payments.
For deposits, we accept credit card and bank transfer.

Yes. Each cottage has a minimum rate. You must pay for the required minimum even if your group is smaller.

Yes. Deposits can be processed separately. Each person must contact us and provide payment information while referencing the name of the person who made the reservation. Please note that only one invoice will be issued per cottage.

Yes, payments can be made separately. However, only one invoice will be issued per cottage. The total should be calculated in advance to facilitate payments. The invoice is provided the day before departure so you can finalize your calculations.

In May and June, children are half price and free after Canada Day. Conditions apply for one child per adult. The minimum rate per cottage still applies.

For example, a cottage with a 4-person minimum rate will still be charged for 4 people even if your group includes 2 adults and 2 children. For cottages accommodating 2 to 4 guests, children are half price or free depending on the period of the summer.

Priority is given to guests currently staying at the lodge. At departure, they must advise us if they wish to renew for the following year. If you would like to book for a specific period next season, you must wait until that same period has passed this year before contacting us.

Please notify us in advance so we can unlock your cottage. Upon arrival, you may go directly to your cottage and register at the office the following morning starting at 7:00 a.m.

Yes. You must obtain access rights directly at the lodge office upon arrival.

No. Fishing licences must be purchased online in advance.

Yes. Several parking areas are available for vehicles and trailers.

Yes. All cottages are equipped with a BBQ.

Yes. We provide recycling as well as collection of refundable containers.

No. Composting is not offered to avoid attracting wildlife such as bears.

We do not offer individual rooms, but we do have a cottage available for one person.

No. As we are located within SEPAQ territory, we are not authorized to offer this service. Please contact SEPAQ directly.

No. You must bring your own fishing equipment.

No. We operate on a European plan only.

There is a beach on site and another about 1 km from the lodge. Depending on water levels, there are also a few spots around the reservoir where you can stop.

Yes. There is a beach about 1 km from the lodge. In collaboration with SEPAQ, we have also set up two shore lunch sites with picnic tables and fire areas. Ask at the office for exact locations.

We carry very limited items at the office. We recommend doing your grocery shopping before arriving.

Yes. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. You must keep the grounds clean and pick up after your dog. Dogs must not bark excessively to avoid disturbing other guests.

Unfortunately, no. Due to the proximity of the cottages and forest, fire risk is too high. You may bring a portable propane fire pit.

Yes. All cottages have 24-hour electricity powered by generators.

Our 15 hp boats have a maximum capacity of 3 people.
Our 50–60 hp boats have a maximum capacity of 4 people.
Our 20’ pontoon can accommodate up to 8 people, and our 25’ pontoon up to 12 people.

Yes. You may bring your own boat at no additional cost.

We recommend a minimum of 15 hp.

Boat rentals are prioritized for our guests, but it may be possible to rent a 15 hp boat if availability allows.

Several docks are available near your cottage. Docking operates on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are first, please dock starting from one end rather than the center to leave room for others. Always position the bow facing outward so waves do not fill the boat with water.

If bumpers (buoys) are installed along a dock, the space is reserved. Please respect other guests and do not use or move these bumpers.
Do not detach the yellow ropes attached to the docks — they are anchors for the docks.

Electrical outlets are available at all docks, free of charge, to recharge electric motors. Please bring your own extension cord.

No, but we strongly recommend using the free cleaning stations available within the La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve.

Yes. If you do not have one, we can issue a temporary licence free of charge for the duration of your rental.

It varies from year to year. Water levels are not always the same.

Yes. It covers approximately 325 km².

As it is a reservoir and water levels can vary throughout the season, caution is required. Apps such as Avenza and Navionics can be downloaded to your phone to help with safe navigation.

Walleye and northern pike.

You may have up to 5 walleye and 5 northern pike in your possession at all times per fishing licence.

Walleye must measure between 32 and 47 cm.
There are no size restrictions for northern pike.
